Dr. Jerry Robicheau Receives MASA Distinguished Service Award

The Minnesota Association of School Administrators (MASA) has named Dr. Jerry Robicheau recipient of the 2024 MASA Distinguished Service Award. Dr. Robicheau has received this award for his support of the children of Minnesota and for his contributions to activities that have improved Minnesota’s public education system. He was honored at a statewide recognition ceremony during the MASA Spring Conference, March 14-15, 2024, at the Minneapolis Marriott Northwest in Brooklyn Park.

Dr. Robicheau currently serves as a Professor Emeritus at Minnesota State University, Mankato, and a Professor of Pedagogy at Nord University in Norway. He previously was a Professor of Practice of Education at Concordia University, St. Paul. His extensive leadership roles include positions as a school superintendent in both rural and suburban districts, assistant superintendent, principal, and director of special education.

Dr. Robicheau’s impact extends beyond the borders of the United States, with notable contributions to international education. He is a published scholar, with more than 16 articles in professional journals, and has presented extensively at national and state professional conferences. His global reach includes presentations and facilitating seminars at international conferences in Norway and Oxford University. As a dedicated advocate for diversity and ethical leadership in education, Dr. Robicheau’s research interests focus on addressing the absence of persons of color in school leadership, promoting women in school leadership, and championing ethical leadership practices.

Currently serving on the Faribault School Board, Dr. Robicheau holds pivotal roles as the Chair of the Allina/Faribault Medical Center Hospital Board and the Chair of the Faribault Area Public Schools Trust Association. Additionally, he serves as the Treasurer of the Cannon Valley Special Education Cooperative Joint Power Board.

Dr. Robicheau received a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota and a master’s degree from St. Cloud State University. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead.
