Thank you for your continued advocacy throughout this legislative session. Your efforts in sharing the real impacts of policy and budget decisions on your districts, students, and staff have been critical in keeping public education at the forefront of legislative discussions. Your voices help educate lawmakers about the challenges schools face and highlight the importance of making meaningful investments in education.
While we now have the Governor’s budget recommendations, which unfortunately propose reductions in funding for public schools, our work is far from over. We are still waiting for the House and Senate to establish their budget targets and introduce their respective budget bills. These next few weeks will be critical in shaping the final education budget, and continued advocacy is essential.
Now is the time to engage with legislators, share the realities of budget constraints, and push for the resources necessary to support our schools. Your advocacy has made a difference, and we must keep the momentum going to ensure the best possible outcome for our students and communities.
